How do I calculate percentage manually?

Divide the percentage by 100 to get a decimal, then multiply by the total. For 15% of 80: 15 ÷ 100 = 0.15, and 0.15 × 80 = 12.

What is 10% of a number quickly?

Move the decimal point one place to the left. 10% of 250 is 25. From there you can double for 20%, halve for 5% and so on.

Is percentage the same as percentile?

No. A percentage is a fraction of a whole; a percentile describes rank within a data set (the 90th percentile is above 90% of values).
